the wood of the shovel gets stained.
isn't it enough that i haul stones
on my back up hills sisyphused and on
the horizon, bleak notions of
this semblance (the soil has gone
sandy and the sweet corn tastes
like nails) -if i could list myself
for you, would that be enough?
